Zainab Kamal is a Sudanese artist living in Cairo, Egypt. Her work is heavily inspired by the vibrance of nature both in colour and form.

Zainab believes that everyone knows that harmony with nature is important for a fulfilled life. In order to achieve such a harmony, she says, every individual must use their voice.

To go alongside her works, Zainab sent Louder Than The Storm this Arabic poem, which encapsulates the natural harmony she speaks about, evoking images of an intangible connection between our environment and our deepest thoughts.
The earth is adorned by grass, seas, rivers, and trees
which shade us and from which we harvest fruit How sweet is the rain water which flows on the valleys
Flowing to water the harvest
And man, on his steed, wandering around
The rhythm of nature nourishes our deepest thoughts
