MAKES THE INVISIBLE VISIBLE
Patricia’s powerful work brings together art and science, telling a love story between the sun and moon, while helping us learn about climate change. It helps us celebrate the beauty of the world in all its colours, connecting us closer to the places we inhabit. We simultaneously become aware of the fragility of the love between the sun and the moon and thus, the fragility of the planet, which is melting as a result of warmer temperatures.
About the artist
Hello! I’m Patricia, I’m a Visual and Audiovisual artist and I produce video arts, watercolors, music mixed with sounds of nature and 3D digital art. These artworks relate to climate change and equality rights including highlighting lesbian visibility.
How does this piece express intersectionality?
This beautiful love story gives voice to and celebrates lesbian relationships while also communicating to us how the climate works and how Global Heating will affect the Earth. This work insists that if we are to work and collaborate together, we must also be inclusive of all forms of relationships and love.
This piece helps us understand different perspectives and emotional connections to the earth, teaching us to value a range of approaches to the Climate Crisis, as well as platforming marginalised voices.
